Bio

Manimohan holds a doctorate in Economics from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He has over 25 years of experience as researcher, trainer and teacher. His research interests include the political economy of natural resource management and policy, particularly focusing on land, water and marine fisheries in Tamil Nadu within the wider context of capital accumulation.



Research

Manimohan is currently interested to explore the impact of globalization on social mobility in Tamil Nadu. He would look at the relationship between state policy and the structural changes in the local economy, especially, focusing on mobility and social structure of a coastal village located in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu. Besides, he intends to research on blue economy and ocean grabbing, and also to write up some work in progress on this theme.
