In what ways does something abstract like time gain shape, form, and materiality through a photograph, a piece of writing, or a space like an archive? This workshop invites participants to think creatively with and of photographs, writing, and archives as spaces that both house as well as chronicle time in particular ways. It would use a series of writing prompts and a selection of archival photographs of the streetscapes of Pondicherry from IFP’s Photo Archives to encourage participants to experiment with language and make something wispy like time visible through writing.

This creative writing workshop is open to all. However, spaces are limited. Click here to register.

This workshop could be of particular interest to those who enjoy and/or are seeking spaces for creative writing in a group setting; who like to read, write, or think about themes such as time, history, memory, and archiving; and who are keen to explore the many ways in which we can think of the quickening, thickening, storing, and stilling of time in an archive using writing as a medium.
