The IFP podcast series offers a collection of interesting and insightful conversations on issues related to the research undertaken by the team of scholars conducting their work in the French Institute of Pondicherry spanning across several disciplines, approaching multiple topics through specific tools and techniques of analysis.
The first session of this series of podcasts concerns the contemporary challenges related to the cities, through the lenses of urbanization and urban planning. Spotlighting on the Global Observance of World Cities Day, Nicolas Bautès, geographer, briefly exposes the core challenges faced by both environments and societies due to the extended movement of urbanization. Going back to the ways research could provide empirical evidence on related issues, he is exposing the mainframe of an ongoing research project called RUSE, “Socio-ecological Resilience of the Pondicherry Bioregion”, founded by the French Development Agency (AFD).
