The "Local Food System" (LFS) monthly workshop will provide a platform to encourage and facilitate dialogue and collaboration between researchers and different groups of stakeholders engaged in the localization of food systems (from food production to consumption, as well as processing, marketing, and distributing) in the bioregion of Puducherry and the surrounding districts of Tamil. It focuses more particularly on the social, economic, political, and cultural dimensions of food, milk and agriculture for various stakeholders and explores the diverse ways in which citizens are reclaiming and reasserting democratic control over their food.
Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare of the Puducherry Government has the vision to double the livestock farmer’s income, increase the production and Productivity of Livestock and Poultry, and impart entrepreneurship oriented skill development programs to the farmers and students to engage animal husbandry occupation
Dr V. Subramanian, Secretary of Silukaripalayam Milk Producers Society will preside the meeting. He will discuss the methods to get better milk yield from low cost fodder
Dr S. Sambath Kumar, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Madagadipattu Animal Husbandry Clinic, will present various precaution methods for the implementation of Livestock Health and Disease Control.
"உள்ளூர் உணவு பழக்க வழக்கம்" என்ற நிகழ்ச்சி மூலம் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள், விவசாயிகள் மற்றும் பயன்படுத்துபவர்கள் ஆகியவர்களிடம் உள்ள அனுபவங்களை பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதாகும். இந்நிகழ்ச்சி புதுச்சேரி மற்றும் தமிழ்நாட்டில் சில மாவட்டங்களில் நடக்கிறது. உணவு பொருட்களை விளைவித்தல் மற்றும் அதன் மூலம் இயற்கை சார்ந்த சுற்றுச் சூழலை மேம்படுத்துதல் ஆகியவை இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் நோக்கமாகும். புதுச்சேரி அரசு கால்நடை பராமரிப்பு மற்றும் கால்நடை நலத்துறையின் கொள்கையானது கால்நடை வளர்ப்பவர்கள் வருமானத்தை இரட்டிப்பாக்குதல், கால்நடை மற்றும் கோழிகளின் மூலம் கிடைக்கும் வருமானத்தை அதிகப்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் கால்நடை வளர்ப்பதை ஒரு தொழிலாக விவசாயிகள் மேற்கொள்வதை ஊக்குவித்தலாகும்.
