The Hārītasaṃhitā is attributed to Hārīta, one of the disciples of the sage Ātreya Punarvasu. It is also known by the names of Atrisaṃhitā and Ātreyasaṃhitā. The text known to us, differs from the one cited in the ancient period by the commentators of the major Āyurvedic texts. It has survived in the form of a large number of manuscripts and has been edited several times, proof of the interest that it has generated. This text, known from Gujarat to Bengal, is presented here with a translation in French and an index of the therapeutic formulas and their components. It contains teachings, related in particular to the areas of hygiene and dietetics, that complement those of the classical traditions, thereby adding to our knowledge of Āyurveda.

La Hārītasaṃhitā est attribuée à Hārīta, l’un des disciples du sage Ātreya Punarvasu. Elle est aussi appelée Atrisaṃhitā ou Ātreyasaṃhitā. Le texte que nous connaissons apparaît cependant comme différent de celui cité anciennement par les commentateurs des grands textes Āyurvedic. Il nous est parvenu en un assez grand nombre de manuscrits et fit l’objet de plusieurs éditions, témoins de l’intérêt qui lui a été porté. Cette oeuvre, répandue depuis le Gujrat jusqu’au Bengale, ici présentée avec une traduction en français et un index des formules thérapeutiques et de leurs composants, contient des enseignements, surtout dans le domaine de l’hygiène et de la diététique, qui complètent ceux des traditions classiques et ajoutent à notre connaissance des développements de l’Āyurveda.
